Larry White has been a working photographer since 1973. After receiving his B.A. from the University of Georgia, Larry worked as a photojournalist and documentary photographer. He received numerous awards from the National Press Photographers Association and a survey grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to photograph life on Long Island. Larry has exhibited widely and his works are in public and private collections, most notably the George Eastman House and the Library of Congress. He was a professor of photography at the University of North Carolina at Asheville for eighteen years.
Larry began photographing weddings because the subject matter lent itself to his documentary approach. Working in a discrete, unobtrusive manner in either black and white or color, Larry captures the essence and spirit of the event.
